Whose rules will we play by!

Naval ravikant said once that if you want to know who has power over you than think of who you can't criticize in public. Now it's a very powerful statement. 

Let's look what we can't criticize in public : Religion, Government or any powerful institution or person that has considerable influence in the society. For instance you can't criticize Xi jinping in china, MBS in Saudi Arabia, Putin in Russia, Kim Jong un in North Korea like that.

You can't criticize or reason anything regarding Islam in fundamentalist countries like Pakistan, Turkey, Bangladesh who are majority muslim.
This clearly means that they have influence or power over us. 

They set rules and we have to follow them and not many options are available to anyone.
